Disappointing...

Overview
Whilst this hotel used to be excellent, a recent visit found the facilities in the 'disabled accessible' room were very disappointing. The low lavatory had 1 single - and very misplaced - grab rail. I had to haul myself up using the heated towel rail. The bathroom sink was of regular height and was built into a unit which I could not get my knees under. To add insult to 'injury' the shower was a fixed head, over the regular height bath, and the provision for the disabled guest was a seat which sat over the bath like one of those old fashioned racks that your granny had for her soap and sponge! The chair swivelled to allow you to turn it round to sit on, then swivelled back to let you face the shower. If like me, you have problems with your legs, you need a partner or carer to lift your legs over the side of the bath.
Transport & Parking
We drove down from Pitlochry and there are 2 parking bays for the disabled outside the front door. If you are travelling by bus, the bus stop from the north is just across the road and from the south, it is outside the bank next door.
Access
The hotel has a revolving door, and for wheelchairs, there is a fire exit door which opens outwards. There is no step.
Toilets
The accessible loo was fine and easy to find. There were plenty of grab rails and there was space for a carer, but not enough to turn my wheelchair round to go out forwards. I had to reverse out.
Staff
The waiters were easy on the eye, although a lack of training was obvious.
