Newly refurbished, but not great for access

Overview
Once inside, the smooth floors and accessible loo are plus points. However there is a sizeable step at the front door, there's a bit of a trek from the car park, internal steps to the restaurant. The accessible loo needs extra grab rails and an alarm cord in order to be suitable for most needs.
Transport & Parking
The bus comes through Wonersh but doesn't stop right outside. There's a car park to the side and no apparent direct way in from it so you have to walk round the front. The path is uneven and includes a cobblestone section. There are no disabled bays in the car park.
Access
The front door has a large step which I needed help to negotiate. Not sure how you'd get a wheelchair up it. Round the far side (ie further from the car park), there's a door with a smaller step but still a step. No help was offered by staff who saw us come in, so I presume there are no alternatives! There are two internal steps from bar seating area to restaurant. Walk from bar to loo is level. Nice smooth floors inside.
Toilets
It's great that there is an accessible loo. However there's only one small grab rail - I had to use the wash basin to hold onto as well! There's no alarm cord. I reckon there would just have been enough space to turn a wheelchair round, but transfer would have been tricky with such a small, singular rail.
Staff
No offers of assistance.
Anything else you wish to tell us?
Have always loved this pub but access is not great. The refurb has made for a lovely interior just a shame access has not really improved. Sadly it's also now pricey with a more limited menu than before.
