Overview

This is a small military museum. Upon arriving the Museum Officer David was very keen to make sure my experience was as good as possible. He talked about and described key things that were behind glass, but also allowed me to touch as much as i could, including some items usually out of bounds. They had some manakins in uniform, helmets warn by the troops over time and medals and implements used in the 1st world war. At the end i and my companion were asked to give geedback to support them making the museum more accessible and inclusive. It is a small and interesting museum, looking at the past 350 years-ish of this regiment and well worth visiting and our support.

Transport & Parking

The museum is in Warwick town centre and therefore nearby parking would be required to be used. If they do have some parking I am sure emailing ahead they would put this at your disposal or advise on where best to go.

Access

There is a stair lift to the rear and they relocated to this new venue because listing meant their old venue could not be adapted. There was room for wheelchairs to move through the exibits. I was able to touch everything that it would be reasonable to touch as a blind visitor, given the historic significance and preservation of those items. My guide dog was very welcome and for those with reduced mobility able to use stairs, you need to go up one floor, with broad wooden steps with a good hand rail.

Toilets

I was not aware of toilets so cannot comment.

Staff

David the Museum Officer was extremely helpful and wanted to ensure that I had the best experience possible and actively invited feedback so that the museum could be even more inclusive.
