Overview

First time I've been here since starting to use a wheelchair and came away very disappointed. Food was slow to arrive although it was good. Deciding on coffee rather than desert the wait for three coffees and a tea was ridiculously long and the coffee when it eventually arrived was tepid.

Transport & Parking

There are several disabled spaces in Fort Street.

Access

There's a large step at the main entrance so wheelchair access is through the beer garden at the back. The pavement in Long Lane at the side of the pub is very narrow and is difficult to negotiate so I would recommend going onto the road to make your way to the beer garden and the disabled entrance. Getting round within the venue is awkward but the customers are very helpful moving seats and opening doors if needed.

Toilets

This must be the smallest disabled loo I've had the misfortune to need to use. Even in my manual chair there was not room to manoeuvre, so I'm very glad I wasn't in my powerchair. Although there's grab rails and the toilet was clean transferring from chair to loo is a nightmare. There's also no room for a carer unless they moved the chair out.
