Overview
We were visiting the area while on holiday. Stopped in Ambleside for a look in the shops and to have a meal , not always easy to get round parts of the town. Due to narrow pavement and no lower kerbs in many places. This pub wasn’t too far from the car park which we had used this had a few blue badge spaces in , the pub had a mixture of indoor some upstairs seating which wasn’t accessible for a wheelchair user or someone with limited mobility . There was also an outside seating area with benches seats attached to these . We sat outside, my scooter just fitted at the end of the bench table. Plenty of choice for all tastes in the menu and at a reasonable price . We asked about done ingredients that were In the roast as I have foods which I must avoid , the staff member checked with the chef and I wax able to choose a suitable roast , we were more than happy with our meal plenty on the plate and I had asked for no cabbage I got extra carrots instead . Access to the outside area and downstairs inside was ok all on one level . Staff were helpful and friendly . Would visit again when in the area. Unfortunately many of the shops in the town were t accessible for a wheelchair or scooter as they involved a number of steps .
Transport & Parking
We travelled here by car but saw a number of bus stops in the town . We used one of the main car parks which wasn’t far from either the shops or pub where we had our meal . This cAr park had a few blue badge spaces . Access from the car park to the town and pub was up a slight slope .
Access
Access to the pub was good both the ground floor and outside eating area on one level . Getting around the town not quite so easy narrow pavements.not many lower kerbs.access to many shops up steps not suitable for a wheelchair. Scooter or done or with limited mobility.
Toilets
Staff
Staff in the pub were helpful and were able to answer the questions we had after seeking advice from the chef .
