Overview
Level access from restaurant, bars to my wheelchair space in the auditorium. The original fire engine shed is now an interesting restaurant and bar very well adapted to its nes purpose. A new building is attached providing an extra bar and waiting area as well as the auditorium.
Transport & Parking
I travelled to Sunderland by train. The venue and adjacent Premier Inn were a 10 minute roll through the pedestrianised shopping centre.
Access
It is one level from pavements into the venue. I didn't need use of a lift and there may not be one. My wheelchair space was raised above the main seating area so, even when the audience stood up, I could see the performers. The quality of the audio was good.
Toilets
I used 2, one in the restaurant, the other in the auditorium. No push pads to open doors and maybe a couple more would be good, as there was a rush to use all the toilets at the start of the interval
Staff
They could not be more helpful or patient with me, with my unclear speech and inability to find my e-tickets on my mobile.
Anything else you wish to tell us?
An excellent meal in the restaurant was a great start to a fantastic gig by The Shires !
