Overview
Every now and then I get summonsed for an aunty's lunch. I think it's they're way of checking up on me! We try to go some where different each time. Today we thought we'd try the Famous Grouse restaurant. I'd heard good things about the food since it changed hands, and we weren't disappointed. The menu is short, only four choices for each course but what we got was very tasty. I took points off for the excruciatingly slow service, it took almost an hour to get our 1st course - there were only 4 tables in. Also the very steep hill up to the main door was hard work, as was the spring loaded door of the toilet.
Transport & Parking
Plenty of parking spaces, three of them are disabled. No public transport runs up to the distillery, the nearest bus stop is 1/2 mile away.
Access
The car park is level but there is a very steep hill up to the main door, I estimate it to be about a 1 in 4. Once inside there is a platform lift up to the restaurant. Access through the restaurant is good, some parts are narrow due to the layout of the seats.
Toilets
The door is extremely heavy as it's spring loaded. Space wise it is quite large however a wooden baby changing unit takes up a lot of space in the corner. The toilet itself is very low, not of the standard comfort height.
Staff
Staff are nice, quite and unobtrusive. Eager to please. We had a bird come into the dining room while we were eating, they dealt with it quickly and professionally without causing any distress to the customers.
