Overview

We stayed here for four nights having stayed here before in 2019. There are a number of blue badge parking bays in the car park at the rear of the hotel , which is right next. To the hotel entrance, all the doors to the entrance and in the corridors are automatic opening great when your in a wheelchair. As it means whoever is pushing you doesn’t have to juggle opening and holding doors while trying to push you. The entrance is up a slope and once inside the whole area including lounge, bar, restaurant and reception are all on one level. The fully accessible bedroom we had was in the main part of hotel down a couple of corridors. They also have an annex with a number of other hotel rooms in. Our bedroom was at the front of the hotel over looking the road . There was plenty of room in the bedroom for me too get about In my wheelchair . Although the bed is quite high 27 inches from the floor to the top the mattress. Which I knew from my last visit was a bit high for me so I had brought my wooden step stool which I use at home, it is only a few inches high but meant it was easier for me to get into and out of bed. We did point this out to the manager Debbie who said she would pass the information onto the owners who themselves have a disabled relative. The bathroom is a wet room with grab rails by the toilet and next to the shower, there is also a nice wooden shower seat attached to the wall. The shower has a longer cord and is extremely powerful. The sink is at the right Height for a wheelchair user. They also have emergency pull cords incase you have a problem and special emergency lights warning you if there is a fire. As we were staying On a bed and breakfast basis a table was set aside ready for me each morning a chair already removed so we could just push the wheelchair straight up to the table. The breakfast was extremely good each morning with a very good choice on the menu catering for all tastes. All the staff were fantastic offering to help all the time, they were so chatty and friendly . We had an excellent stay and would certainly return for another visit when visiting family in the area. I really can’t fault them at all.

They do have an accessible toilet near the bar, restaurant and patio area but as we were staying here I didn’t need to use it.
