Overview
Visited the Golf Club’s Clubhouse, which has a restaurant area, function room and bar, on the outskirts of town. Fully wheelchair accessible, lovely grounds, would have given 5 stars, but needed help to open the double doors. Staff very welcoming, attentive , and friendly
Transport & Parking
I went by taxi, large carpark, no dedicated accessible spaces, but plenty of roomy parking spaces near the main access On a public bus route from the town
Access
Long ramp to main doors, railings in place. One of the double doors needed to be unlocked by the taxi driver to enable access for me Everything on the flat . Plenty of seating throughout Very roomy, plenty of room throughout to manoeuvre wheelchair Did not notice any sensory aids
Toilets
Easy to find, situated at both ends of clubhouse. Roomy , clean, plenty of grab-rails etc
Staff
Staff very welcoming. I had arrived first from our Party, and Craig, whom I think maybe runs the Clubhouse made sure that I was settled in where I wanted to sit, moving furniture etc, fetching me a coffee while I waited on everybody, I didn’t feel awkward sitting on my own because of the staffs welcoming and caring attitudes. 5 * service, and scrummy food
