Overview

Wheelchair accessible pub/restaurant in the city centre. Part of the Wetherspoons establishment so food and drinks are at a reasonable price.

Transport & Parking

I parked my car at the shop mobility outside the Overgate shopping centre. At the weekend you are able to park here for free if you have a blue badge, but this parking is for shop mobility use. I don't know what the on street parking is like nearby as I have never parked in that fascinate before. Bus stops also nearby.

Access

There are 2 door entrances into The Counting House, one has a step to enter and the other has ramp access (the ramp is not steep though). When busy which it was when I visited on a Saturday evening, it can be really busy. Luckily people were leaving when we got in so we managed to get a table. It was lucky as well because some of the tables were up a couple of stairs and also because of the busyness it would be hard to get into some of the tables on level access. I also could not get to the bar myself which I still don't think I would of been able to get to if it wasn't busy. So my friend went up to order because you have to order food and drinks at the bar.

Toilets

The disabled toilet was at the opposite side of the restaurant from where the accessible door entry was. With it being so busy I would of struggled to get past everyone. I didn't need to use the facilities and it wasn't a changing place toilet anyway. My friend did go and look though and she said you needed to ask for a key from the bar. She said it looked like a normal lock so I don't think it was a radar key lock.

Staff

Didn't interact with staff members because I couldn't get to the bar, however when our food came they brought the wrong order and it took ages for someone to clear our plates away.
