Overview

This historic restaurant is wheelchair accessible with amazingly helpful, accomodating staff. The Cock& Bull has recently expanded and now has rooms & on site cottage to stay in which are also accessible too! The food is great and I will deffinitely be returning.

Transport & Parking

Out the front of the venue is a large carpark where you will find it easy to park. There is busses that can drop you outside the Cock & Bull although there is not yet a path and it's situated just off the main road so may be more challenging if you have a manual wheelchair, however in saying that most bus driver's are willing to pull up at the entrance of the car park.

Access

There is NO steps to enter this venue. Inside the venue there is a maximum of 3 small steps from the lounge/bar area to the function room and restraunt, however the staff on request can provide a ramp to allow access for those unable to use stairs.

Toilets

The toilet is situated in the bar/lounge area, there is good signage to find the loo and staff were happy show us where to go. The toilet is a good size however it may not be suitable for those in larger power chairs for manoeuvring about. There are grab rails available although there is no drop down rail next to the toilet which may pose a problem for some. Upon speaking with the manager he took my concern seriously and is going to bring that to the attention of the owners who will hopefully be able to amend that.

Staff

The staff were very friendly and accommodating, they couldn't of been more genuine and helpful. To make my life as a chair user easier they moved our group of 11 to their function area where they provided a ramp for access this meant that I was able to just get around alot easier and not have to worry about squeezing between tables of other diners. Their service was impeccable, I couldn't fault them in any way.
