Overview
We found this B&B an ideal base for us as we toured around The isle Skye. However, if you are chair bound, then CLIFFE House may not suit your needs, as there are a few steps you need to get up and down, but if you are like ourselves, and can just about cope with the few steps, then we would recommend this small guest house to you. If you would like details, then check out. www.anne226.wixsite.com/Cliffe-house. It is ideally situated in the small coastal village of Kyleakin, the first main village after you have crossed the Skye Bridge onto The Isle of Skye. Take a good look at our photos, and you can then decide if you could cope here, and we do so hope you feel you can, because it is certainly a well run B&B, very clean and tidy throughout, excellent breakfast, and a lounge you may sit and relax in during the evening with wonderful views across the bay. When we arrived in the mini bus, we had to park on the curb side, and walk up a steep hill to reach the house, but if you have your own car, then you may just find a space at the side of Cliffe House as you turn right to enter their property. At the front door there is a small step to get up, then it’s level to enter reception and lounge area. Right outside lounge door is a small passage, with JUST ONE STEP UP to enter room 3, which is an accessible room. Just large enough to be comfortable, although you will have to place wheelchair by the bathroom overnight. The lounge was comfortable, and you can sit inside in the warmth and enjoy the views across the bay, with a good book in hand, a pleasant way to end the day. The bed was very comfortable, and we had a walk in shower, with a flat screen Tv, so slept very well. The breakfast was enjoyable, well cooked, and enough to satisfy, so we were then ready to go and explore The Isle of Skye.
Transport & Parking
You may have to park your car just on the curb side and walk up a rather steep slope to the guest house, but if fortunate enough, you may just be able to park up by the house.
Access
There is a small step to get up by front door, then another step to get up into the ground floor accessible room. (See our photos) Our photo shows three steps to get up into bedrooms, BUT THE ACCESSIBLE ROOM is number 3, and there is only one step if we remember, to get up into this room.
Toilets
In your room you have a reasonably sized bathroom,
Staff
Lovely staff, usually just one in charge helping you enjoy your stay, with decent home cooking at breakfast, plenty of it too.
