Overview
Very disappointed in this new Weatherspoons. It's in a listed building which has been beautifully restored with minimum consideration for accessibility.
Transport & Parking
There are some disabled parking spaces in the streets behind and the nearest bus stops at the bottom of Lothian Road are close by.
Access
There is one door which has a ramp but it's poorly signposted. Then there are more double doors to get through which are impossible for most wheelchair users without assistance. There is a bell to ring but no one responded to this in any of the four occasions we tried to gain access. Having struggled through the doors (I push my husband's wheelchair) the only way to gain access is to use a lift. Fair enough but on three of our four attempted visits there's been a printed sign on the lift door to say it's out of operation! For it to be broken on so many visits suggests there's a major problem which Weatherspoons have not resolved. And why not have the sign outside to save the effort of struggling with the doors?
Toilets
Space for a career, grab rails and easily found from the one floor of this venue which is accessible (that's if the lift is working)
Staff
On the one occasion we were able to get in, the staff were helpful. However the absence of any staff responding to the bell at the front door was yet another barrier to getting in.
