Overview
We had a lovely visit to the Bluebell in Helpston near Peterborough. Our son is a powered wheelchair user and all of the bedrooms were wheelchair accessible, with a little reorganisation, with one larger twin room with a bigger wet room particularly designated as such. The pub itself is also accessible and the staff were friendly and went out of their way to assist us. Added bonuses are that this is a very attractive area and the food at the Bluebell is really good and reasonably priced.
Transport & Parking
There is a designated space in the car park next to the accessible room. The only downside is the gravel surface but a powered wheelchair coped with it.
Access
There is a designated wheelchair accessible room which is excellent. The only missing element is a shower chair but the management are aware of the need for this. All of the rooms are accessible with a little reorganisation although space could be an issue. The pub itself is accessible with a disabled toilet.
Toilets
There is a standard disabled loo in the pub with grab rails. It was well serviced. If you are staying here the bedroom loo in the accessible room is excellent.
Staff
Friendly and extremely helpful.
