Overview
Great venue - fabulous atmosphere... Delicious food... Very helpful & genuine staff... Wish they had more accessible accommodation though!
Transport & Parking
There is a dedicated blue badge parking space right beside the door. Blakeney is right by the sea in rural Norfolk so public transport is a lot trickier!
Access
There is a great ramp from the car park to the main entrance. The ground floor of the hotel with the reception and the restaurant is all step free. Unfortunately the accessible room that we wanted to book was already booked however our room was spacious and staff were able to supply certain mobility aids to help. There was also mention of Hearing Loops and other information in the Guest Information. The lift was not massive but it was made better by the fact that you enter and leave by front & back doors so no need to turn around.
Toilets
There was an accessible loo opposite reception - clean & spacious... Only one issue - unfortunately the emergency cord was cut off at so nowhere near the floor & rendering it pretty useless!
Staff
Wonderful - super helpful - nothing was too much trouble. You also felt they were very genuine and we had a great Norfolk welcome! Also did a few v helpful things like reserving our table in restaurant etc.
Anything else you wish to tell us?
Brilliant weekend - lots of special touches - loved the markings on the outside & internal walls showing where the flood waters has risen to over the years. there is a great room on the first floor called the lookout where you can get a fabulous view out over the marshes. There was also a billiards room & games room but with so much to do nearby we didn't get a chance to check them out! Will definitely try and book earlier next time to get an accessible room.
