Overview

The modern fleet of Blackpool Trams are super accessible with level roll on roll off access.

Transport & Parking

3.5

The trams are superb for accessibility - the challenge is getting to them. You may have to use one of the car parks or on street parking if you're not located in one of the shore front hotels or you're visiting for the day.

Access

5

The trams stops are accessible and well sign posted. They raised platforms which you can approach from either end and wheel up. Once on the platform there are two wheelchair logos embedded in the pavement. These indicated where the accessible spaces are on board the tram. The trams are easy to get on and there's plenty of room in the dedicated wheelchair area. The trams can take more than one wheelchair at a time.

Staff were really helpful. They explained that some of the heritage trams were not accessible but these are interspersed with the main modern trams. We were helped to manoeuvre into the wheelchair space and to get off safely at our stop.

Great way to travel along the front as powerchair user - had a great time and would do it again. Bought a Blackpool seven day pass which covered both the buses and trams - all of which were wheelchair accessible which was great.

Enjoy your visit! I loved Blackpool and have been several times. I found there's a lot to do and it is reasonably wheelchair accessible. My favourite places were Blackpool Zoo, Sandcastle Waterpark, and Stanley Park.
