Overview

Although the building is over 100 years old, everything possible has been done to make this venue accessible to everyone. The staff have obviously been trained to offer help to guests who have disability & do so in a kind & professional way. We only visited the ballroom, but found lifts & ramps were available as were radar key operated accessible loos.

Transport & Parking

There is no parking. We arrived by tram. The tram & tram stop were easy to use, the tram staff were kind & helpful. The tram stop is a short distance from the tower. Please note that the accessible entrance is at the back of the building not at the front, that's the part that faces the prom, but it was level access & easy to find.

Access

Although this is a historic building, everything possible has been done to make it open to everyone. There are lifts, ramps & staff on hand to help. I really did get the impression that they genuinely want everyone to enjoy this beautiful building.

Toilets

Mum who is a wheelchair user used the radar key operated loo on the ground floor. There were 2 side by side, I think the one that we didn't use might double up as a baby changing room. The loo Mum used was clean, roomy & had grab rails.

Staff

All the staff were friendly & happy to help. A special mention goes to Francis who went out of his way to help us. He had obviously been trained to offer help in an appropriate & sensitive way. We really appreciated his assistance.

Anything else you wish to tell us?

We only visited the ballroom, but there are lots of other things to see. The ballroom is stunning & well worth a look. A musician was playing the organ & there were lots of people dancing. The atmosphere was lovely. It was easy to get the wheelchair up to a table & I was pleased to find that drinks were reasonably priced.
