Overview
Fully accessible eatery on banks of River Monnow at Skenfrith. 17th century former coaching inn , now hotel and restaurant. Good food , friendly staff & lovely position makes this somewhere to enjoy and return to.
Transport & Parking
Spacious car park gave easy access . No dedicated disabled space although probably not an issue Not sure there is any public transport to this small village in the heart of Monmouthshire!
Access
wide doorway , level access made entry easy with a companion. Opening inner door needed someone alongside. Plenty of room inside bar and restaurant and easy access to patio allowed a wheelchair user to enjoy the sunshine.
Toilets
Plenty of space , easy access and sufficient grab rails . Wheelchair accessible good sized basin was helpful too.
Staff
Very friendly and helpful.
Anything else you wish to tell us?
enjoyable outing with good food, locally sourced produce and freshly cooked meals. Not an extensive menu , but excellent quality. The Bell had thought through their accessibility and it worked well. Would be very happy to return. Lovely little village with ancient castle and church , neither of which were wheelchair accessible, but a very pleasant place to spend a little time.
