Overview
We had coffee and cake in the library, and I can't fault it at all. So lovely to be in a historic setting where the access has really been through about.
Transport & Parking
This is difficult to comment on as I parked at a local carpark (I am not sure whether there is parking at The Bear). Wareham is tiny and fairly flat, so I had no problem as a manual wheelchair user getting there.
Access
Level access. I had phoned beforehand and spoke to someone helpful who booked us into The Library, which was a lovely old-world room with a view of the main street, but which felt very roomy and comfortable.
Toilets
I asked a member of staff for directions to the loo. They immediately got a purpose built ramp out from behind the scenes and showed me where to go. The ramp was slightly steep, but the staff member was happy to give me a slight shove (I might have been ok independently if I hadn't eaten so much cake....). The toilet itself was excellent. Grab rails, very clean and not 'clinical' looking; in keeping with the rest of the pub.
Staff
Super helpful and friendly.
Anything else you wish to tell us?
They don't sell themselves enough! They should make more of the fact that they are accessible. They should also tell everyone that they sell the best cake in Wareham. :)
