Overview

Only one accessible room available however it's a very good accessible room. First floor will quite large for a B&B... it has a backroom which is about 8 feet by 10 feet accessible shower completely flat level access with full complement of support handles and grab rails. It is a double or twin room at the beds are detachable which was very comfortable. Other trains are available but this is the only one with the adapted bathroom. There is a lift only available to guests which is accessed via a side entrance and the only downside would be that there is a small step maybe 2 or 3 inches into the lobby area and the accessible ramped entrance is via the side of the pub itself. However staff are on hand and I believe they have a ramp and reception is available by telephone 24 hours. The pub is open until around 2 a.m. every morning so it is rare you would not be able to go via the ramp entrance. However if you want to use the small entrance next to the lift you do have to reach the card operated electronic lock which is ok on the way in at around 4 feet from floor level but on the way out it is not accessible by somebody sitting in a chair and you would need assistance or go through the pub which for some might be a consideration.

Transport & Parking

It is in the centre of Warminster for public transport is good however the whole of this area would be considered rural and it's not the same as being in a major city. There a good rail bus and taxi links but the Frequency may not be as you would wish. Parking for the Venue itself has one disabled room and therefore one disability accessible space but there is also a street based disabled access space almost immediately outside the front door. We did not have any problem in the seven days we were there

Access

Full disabled access via a ramp at the side of the pub if you can accommodate a small step of 2 to 3 in then you can access any of the doors on the main road at the front of the building but if you have parked in the car park then it's a short downhill slope I'm about 60 or CM to be ramp entrance and about 100 m to the small lobby next deal with guest only hotel room accessible lift entrance. You can go through the pub to the lift but on a Saturday night this would be more difficult.

Toilets

This is Wetherspoon's public house so in the bar and restaurant downstairs it was an adequate disabled toilet but it did not have things like changing room facility just basic grab rails and slightly larger private toilet similar to those found in McDonald's restaurants however I was there as a hotel guest and had a fully accessible wet room 8 ft by 10 ft

Staff

Extremely helpful and friendly the only problem was they were also the bar staff and therefore at times there was a small wait for their services.

Surprisingly it was very good for what is essentially a Wetherspoons pub in an old historical building. Although the parking spaces were limited it only had 10 rooms in total one of which was accessible and there was one accessible space outside the door and one accessible space in the car park. This did get taken up by people who only use the pub and restaurant occasionally even though car park is labelled Hotel guest only. Room was lovely and fully accessible via a wheelchair only lift however it was more than big enough for my mobility scooter. The room that is adapted in the first one from the lift separated by one card operated door. The only issue would be the lobby at the bottom of the lift means you have to either go to the pub to access the ramp or you could ask the staff who were more than happy to help at all times to access the door in the lobby to the front of the pub. Food was great and the accommodation averaged £40 per night including a full breakfast per person sharing a twin room. There was some noise from the pub but I am highly medicated and it did not bother me at all and the only noises you could really hear what those on the street and not from the Public House below your feet. A very small amount of effort will be needed buy Wetherspoons to make this fully accessible and I will be writing to them about this the biggest point would be you have to push a button to get out of the door leaving the lobby in front of the lift and the button is quite a distance even for an able bodied person from the floor and the door itself therefore if you were alone in a wheelchair you would not be able to get out without help. Again small point as it did not affect me I had a 6 foot 2 81 year old father-in-law with me lol
