This review is especially helpful for those who have or use the following: Mobility Scooter
Overview
Wheelchair accessible restaurant and cafe with helpful, friendly staff in great venue near to the Holy Island (Lindisfarne) and Bamburgh Castle.
Transport & Parking
Large car-park with number of disabled parking spaces that has a ramp providing great wheelchair access. Rather out-of-way so little if any public transport nearby.
Access
No steps and very easy access for wheelchair/scooter. Restaurant needs to be pre-booked but attached cafe doesn't and it sells the same meals.
Toilets
At end of restaurant. Well signed and very easy to find. Hinged and wall-fixed grab rails provided. Not massive but large enough for carer to assist.
Staff
Helpful staff assisted my getting to a table and cheerfully spoke of the dishes provided.
Anything else you wish to tell us?
The Barn is in an Area Of Oustanding Natural Beauty (AONB) and on a good day you can see Holy Island, Lindisfarne Castle, other Farne Islands and Bamburgh Castle from the restaurant and the cafe. Sadly it was dull and murky when I was there but I will return.
