Overview
Weekend trip to Northumberland. Just to see a bit of that county's coastline.
Transport & Parking
Car park is off a roundabout at back of the hotel. It is a narrow car park on a slope. Two disabled parking bays are at the bottom left of car park, with 2 access points into the hotel there. If the car park when leaving is full and you have parked in one of the disabled parking bays, facing down to the hotel, you may need to reverse all the way up to get out of the car park.
Access
From the car park, there is a zig-zag ramp to your left which leads you to an access door. Once through that door, you are in a hallway. Through one more door and you are right outside one of the accessible rooms.
Toilets
The bedroom's accessible wetroom is probably the best I have used. Raised toilet, non-slip floor (not tiled, which can sometimes be an issue) and 6 grab rails throughout the spacious room. The accessible toilet in the restaurant is spacious, but like many other places, it is in a corridor, so a bit of manoeuvring required with an electric scooter for access and egress.
Staff
Every interaction I found the staff friendly and helpful.
Anything else you wish to tell us?
Easy access through 2 separate doors to get into restaurant from accessible bedroom. There was room to manoeuvre the electric scooter in the restaurant. Fantastic food. Improvement: the outside seating space is accessed via stairs (where the view is fantastic) but not accessible in a wheelchair- that was disappointing.
