Overview

We booked this cottage through crabpot cottages in Hunstanton . We were visiting family and friends in the area for a week. The cottage is on the outskirts of Cromer at the end of a cul de sac . Access to the front door is up a ramp all the doorways are wider to allow for wheelchair access. The cottage consists of two bedrooms one double with en suite wet room this was quite big and plenty of room for getting in and out with a wheelchair, , one twin room with en suite shower room , another separate toilet. The Lounge kitchen and dining area are all open plan. There is a riser liner chair as well as two further armchairs and sofa .the owners also have a few other things that you can request to borrow like a portable shower seat which we also asked for. There are floor to ceiling windows in the lounge and also two sets of patio doors leasing to the decking area, unfortunately due to the weather we couldn’t make use of the decking area. The kitchen is well equipped with a dish washer, washing machine , oven hob, microwave and fridge freezer . Getting around inside was easy in the wheelchair with it being open plan. Towels and lien were also included. Overall a good place to stay which gave us the chance to catch up with family and friends in the area.

Transport & Parking

3.5

We had travelled by car. There is parking outside the property the only thing I would say is that the drive is on slope and isn’t very wide as there’s a drop to one side given we have an suv parking here wasn’t easy as it meant it was more difficult to fully open the passenger door for me to get out . Instead we parked at the pull in at the bottom of the drive and I used my wheelchair or special crutches to walk up the slope to gain access. There was a danger that if my husband parked too far over we could have put the car down drop which is about 18 inches in height, it would have been better if the slope went right across.

Access

4.5

Access to the property is up a slope and on e inside is all on one level . There are low level thresholds at the doors.

Toilets

4.5

The toilet in the wet room is of standard height with grab rails,

The company who rent out the cottage on behave of the owners were very helpful. They provided a booklet full of information on the area things to do, places to visit , places to eat that are accessible, and information about the cottage . I had emailed them before booking with a number of questions all of which they were happy to answer.
