Overview

A local theatre and community venue that often puts on politically apt and challenging performances. The Albany also helps support local young people to get experience in theatre, as well as hosting events like community gardening and a cafe.

Transport & Parking

4

Transportation access is good, both New Cross Station and Deptford Station are wheelchair accessible. The stations both have lifts but may require ramp access to board trains. There is some off street, free parking but none that I am aware of that is designated to the Albany. Some of the nearby roads aren't well paved for wheelchair access, although these are fine if coming directly from the train stations. During Deptford Market (day time Wed, Fri, Sat) Deptford High Street is very busy with stalls, although people are generally polite about making way for wheelchair users.

Access

5

Most of the venue is level access and there are wheelchair accessible toilets. The theatre space has room for wheelchair users and you can call in advance to reserve seats. Free tickets available for carers. Many performances include BSL interpretation. A schedule of BSL interpreted performances is available.

Toilets

4

Clean and gender neutral, if I remember correctly.

Staff

5

Friendly, local staff. Never had anyone question me for not looking disabled when I have purchased a disabled ticket or requested a seat reservation.
