Overview
I popped into the Tesco Express at Dundee Railway Station for a few bits after arriving in Dundee. Unlike many other grocery stores in train stations and airports, Tesco keeps their prices consistent with non-transport locations.
Transport & Parking
At the main entrance of the train station, the shop is conveniently situated, whether you're spending the day in Scotland's sunniest city or departing Dundee you'll find a few essentials here. There is a bus stop immediately outside the station, but this is more of a place you go to for a few quick items on your way, rather than a full shop.
Access
The entrance has an automatic sliding door and there's level access throughout, with plenty of space between the aisles. There is little in the way of accessibility features, but the self-serve tills can be reached comfortably from a seated position. There are four self-serve tills in addition to a staffed counter. On the left, as you enter, you'll find a Costa coffee machine, and open fridges with the typical meal deal items, sandwiches, drinks and snacks. Some items are placed high, which may be difficult to reach. Following the wall to the left, there are ready meals, pasta, cold meat and various other foods. Some of these fridges have doors, which can be difficult to manage if you're a wheelchair user or have limited mobility. The signage was clear, although I didn't observe any alternative formats.
Toilets
There are no toilets at this location, though there are accessible toilets in the station. Please note that the toilets in the station are beyond the barrier, meaning you'd normally need to have a train ticket to access them.
Staff
A member of staff greeted me warmly and encouraged me to let them know if I needed any help. It was nice that they were so attentive and eager to help.
