Its a dangerous place as when I walk past I'm always tempted in!
Visit date:
Overview
For years I always had walked past this place, its a five minute walk from my flat and always had dismissed it as a tourist trap. I don't know what happened but one day we went in and now it's a place that always tempts us to go in to get a quick, tasty and cheap meal. It's always busy and the service is quick if you're going to the Playhouse or the cinema before and after.
Transport & Parking
Its close to Elm Row bus stop (3 minute walk), OMNI (2 Minute walk) York Place (3 minute walk). It is on the corner of a busy round about so that could be a problem for some people. Its close to the last tram stop on York Place. And theres a taxi rank at OMNI.
Access
So its not overly accessible in the conventional way. It is on two levels with a two wide steps (with handrail) up to a eating platform. The ground level has high tables, which are pretty inaccessible and there is a handful of lower tables and a booth towards the back where a wheelchair user could possibly seat (probably not a larger powerchair). There is no step at the front door and the take away service would be accessible for most people.
Toilets
There is an accessible toilet, forgot to take pic but will update next visit.
Staff
They are always very helpful and quick. They know that I do not like the high tables so if there's a queue, they would offer me one but ask if I would wait for 5 minutes until a low table comes free.
Anything else you wish to tell us?
Try out the Gelato, its always really refreshing after a pizza or a large rich plate of pasta! Great and cheap place to meet friends, have a natter and have some comfort food (mine's spaghetti Bolognese).
