Overview
We checked on the Internet before arriving. It stated that the winter Gardens lift was out of order so we couldn't do the treetop walk but on looking at everything else the museum had to offer we didn't mind this. However when we got to the museum you have to go through the shop although I was in a wheelchair nobody at the shop said anything to us at all. We looked at the exhibitions on ground floor and then went to the lift only to find it was out of order as well. This was really disappointing as the staff at the entrance didn't advise us and when my husband spoke to them we were told to complain to the council as it was down to them.
Transport & Parking
We arrived by car there are 4 disabled spaces outside the museum. You have to cross the road but there is a pedestrian crossing there.
Access
The ground was fairly easy bit tight getting around some of the exhibitions but on the whole not bad. There are two lifts in the museum both were out of order on the day we visited. It was advised on the website that one lift was out of order, which didn't both us but it would have been more helpful to have been informed that they were both out of order.

Staff
I think that if we had been advised by a member of staff when we arrived that neither lift was working or there had been a notice on the door as we went in then I could have made a decision as to whether we were going to still look at the ground floor or not. When my husband asked about the lifts he was quite taken aback by the flippant response from the member of staff about the lifts.
