Overview

Ramped access into building with automatic doors. Very accessible with lifts to upper floor. Changing places toilet and numerous accessible toilets available. You need to ask a member of staff to open them but plenty of staff about. Spacious open plan set up in the library and cafe. Step free access into the theatre. Wheelchair seats and Companion seats available. Companion fee is waivered and is free of charge.

Transport & Parking

There are free parking spaces around the theatre for those with a disabled badge. These can be limited on busy days. There is a multi story car park next to the theatre but we used the car park on Frodsham Street which is spacious and 4 hours free parking for badge holders. A 5 minute walk to Storyhouse.

Signage good and as above, excellent access.

Toilets

Several accessible toilets that are spacious and have grab rails. A spacious changing places toilet also available.

Staff

The best customer service we have ever had. Unfortunately we didn’t catch the name of staff but all staff were so helpful and attentive. One female member of staff went the extra mile to ensure my son’s (who are wheelchair users) were able to meet the Dinosaurs at the Dinosaur World Live show. There was a real understanding of the limitations involved as a wheelchair user.

Anything else you wish to tell us?

Very inclusive environment for all. It’s not often when you have additional needs that you feel totally catered for and have equal opportunities to do things in the same way as an able bodied person does but this place makes that happen.
