Overview
I went to Stonehenge, it was very accessible.
Transport & Parking
The disabled parking was close to the centre. I took their shuttlebus up to the stones, which had very good wheelchair access.
Access
There was plenty of wheelchair space in the visitor centre. It’s all ground floor and stepless. There were subtitles and BSL on the video screens.
Toilets
It was easy to find, same place as all the others. There were two disabled stalls. There were staff nearby to help with doors if needed. There was plenty of space to manoeuvre inside, and grab rails. Although, in the one I was in at least there were only three - one on the door, one either side of the loo. It looked as though one stall was more set up for people with carers judging by the signs on the door. That was the one I was in, as the other was occupied. There was a hoist, and a bed type deal on the side for changing. There was a bin for throwing paper towels away that was operated by hand rather than foot pedal, so I didn’t have to get assistance. There wasn’t a sanitary bin as far as I could see.
Staff
Everyone was very friendly and welcoming.
