Overview
Access to most of the station is generally good, but incomplete. Stair access only to platforms 9 and 10. Access to the cafe is difficult with heavy doors.
Transport & Parking
Disabled parking adjacent to station. Fairly level access to bus station but some of the pavement around the station can be awkward. If you book Travel Assistance then staff will have a wheelchair accessible taxi from the queue reserved for you on arrival.
Access
No disabled access to platforms 9 and 10. This is a problem as trains can be switched to these platforms at short notice. Departure information screens can be difficult to read on platforms with scrolling LED displays. No large print or braille information available.
Toilets
Accessible toilet on concourse is clearly signed and needs RADAR key. The lighting is not very bright. The accessible toilet on platform 3 is not well signed.
Staff
Staff are generally good but there can be shortage of staff at busy times. Early morning or late evening it can be difficult to find staff with barrier unstaffed and travel centre closed. If the staff have time they are very helpful eg will carry drinks for you from cafe to train or get water for guide dog.
