Overview

If you are ambulant this is a great place with quaint streets and shops but lots of hills and cobbled streets. Stavanger is noted for having few warning signs aimed at traffic and pedestrians. It has open streets and squares. Result is more polite driving and fewer accidents. Traffic is great at giving way

Transport & Parking

We arrived by cruise ship which was at the heart of town. We did not need local transport.

Access

Very hilly, shuggly cobbled streets. A bit challenging. New Town had easier access and modern stores.

A lovely city and a very busy port. There is some wealth here and high end shops it was badly bombed in WWII so rebuilt part of town is very utilitarian.
