Overview
We needed somewhere to meet my new work colleagues in or around Newcastle and Starbucks looked a good location. We had a little walk along the quayside first and over Millenium Bridge, which is just outside. Starbucks was easy to access. Toilets are through a lobby in the attached hotel.
Transport & Parking
I'll be honest, the drive in was a bit of a nightmare. There are roadworks and road closures everywhere and we ended up accidently driving down a bus only road (expecting a fine). There were some car parks but they looked tight. We parked street side in a disabled bay outside the Head of Steam on Broad Chare, and walked from there. That walk was flat and relatively easy but there are some places where dropped kerbs would be helpful.
Access
Inside Starbucks itself, access was fine. The floor was clean and my assistance dog laid down quite happily for an hour or two. The servery area was plenty wide enough and there was just about enough seating, though we did arrive early. It got quite busy at lunchtime.
Toilets
Toilets are in the hotel next door but you can go straight through from Starbucks without going outside. The hotel lobby area is thick carpeted so it was a bit like wheeling through treacle. The toilets were very clean and had sufficient grab rails for me.
Staff
Staff were friendly and helpful, brought drinks over to our table.
