Overview
Starbucks is a large chain of coffee shops. This one is close to Blackfriars Tube and Railway Station.
Transport & Parking
This branch is close to Blackfriars tube and railway station, both of which have lift access. There are also several buses which stop close by Starbucks.
Access
There is a permanent ramp at the entrance, see photo. Outside there are a couple of free standing tables and chairs. Inside the counter is high in places and lowered in others. There are free standing tables and chairs. Some of the chairs are firm chairs, arm chairs and fixed bench type seating. There is also further seating downstairs, which involves using a staircase with handrails on both sides.
Toilets
There is an accessible toilet to the rear of the coffee shop. Unusually it does not require a code to access it. Inside it is reasonably spacious with grab rails. The emergency code did not reach to the floor as it appears to have been cut. The room was clean. Most concerning was the low level of lighting. The main light was not working and there interior room was only illuminated by a single, small bulb. I found the room very dark to be in and for people who have visual impairment it could potentially be dangerous. This is why I have given the toilet such a low score.
Staff
Staff were fine and I was served quickly but there was little interaction with them.
Anything else you wish to tell us?
Apart from the lighting, this was an ok visit, everything was fine, I had some bottled water and a croissant but it didn't stand out as anything special. Sorry I usually make a point of speaking to staff when I notice something that I feel needs addressing but in this case I was rushing to an appointment and I didn't have time to wait in the queue to speak to someone.
