Overview
As Starbucks go the Shandwick Place coffee shop is not exactly the jewel in the wrong but the people are friendly, they've got a reasonable disabled toilet, the coffee is good and you can usually find a table.
Transport & Parking
As a tram user I find the Shandwick Place Starbucks pretty handy for the West End tram stop. It's also a few metres from the bus stops which have buses going to loads of places.
Access
You couldn't say that it has fabulous disabled access but what is on offer does work well enough to be one of my 'go to' places when in the West End of town. The doors are of the double variety and a bit tricky for me as a wheelchair user but there are usually plenty of people about and someone will offer a helping hand. Once inside you can order at the counter and the staff will bring your coffee over to you if you find a table in the lower part, ground level, of the shop. The enormous space at the back is more popular but up steps. The furniture is of the moveable kind and so it is easy to get a space that works for you as a wheelchair user.
Toilets
There is a disabled toilet on the ground level. It has a RADAR style lock and is not perhaps the largest of loos I have encountered; that said I can get my fairly large powerchair in. It's one of those drive in and reverse out manoeuvres many readers will be familiar with. The lighting is a bit dull and a peculiar greenish hue but designers love these things apparently. It's always clean and tidy which is a good thing.
Staff
Top marks for the staff here as they're always happy to bring your drink across to you.
