Overview
This branch of Starbucks is on Leith Street, at the entrance to St James Quarter Shopping Centre. It's next door to the National Records of Scotland. It's a very convenient location, being a couple of minutes away from Waverley Train Station and at the east end of Princess Street. This is a typical Starbucks serving hot and cold drinks and food, with step free access. I had a great visit.
Transport & Parking
Starbucks is on the opposite side of Waverley Rail Station and a couple of minutes walk away. There are several buses that stop nearby. St James's Square tram stop is a few minutes away. To get there without going up a slope, walk thought the shopping centre to the far end and then walk along Multrees Walk, a pedestrian shopping street, and St James's Square is at the end of the street.
Access
The cafe is on the ground floor, step free throughout and housed in a modern building. The counter is at standing height. There are free standing tables and chairs throughout. There is some outdoor seating. Inside there is a combination of standard height seats and sofa and bar stools. There is further seating in a separate area in the back.
Toilets
The accessible toilet is at the rear of the cafe, passing tables and chairs. It has a manual door. The toilet is quite spacious. There are plenty of grab rails and the emergency cord reached towards the floor. It was clean and tidy.
Staff
The cafe was busy mid-morning but service was quick. Staff were friendly and helpful. Tables were cleared quickly.
Anything else you wish to tell us?
I used this branch as it was round the corner from the Travelodge Waterloo Place where I was staying. It made a good, quick, accessible choice for a breakfast stop. Would very happy visit again.
