Overview
Spontaneously decided to visit for Evensong as part of their Disabled Access Day programme. So pleased we did! Staff were fantastic. Set up was amazing. Very cool circular lift that whisks you into the main part of the Cathedral. Evensong itself pretty amazing - great to see the pomp and ceremony of such an historical building up close!
Transport & Parking
Great. We were coming from Southbank so just crossed over the river. Lots of public transport options nearby. not sure about Blue Badge parking.
Access
There is a dedicated accessible entrance signposted. We knocked and a member of staff was quick to answer. They took us in to a (very cool!) circular lift which whisked us up to the main area of the cathedral. From there we had our choice of seats. At the end of the service another member of staff escorted us to the lift and back out of the accessible entrance. All hassle free and seemed like the staff had done it loads of times before...
Toilets
Didn't use the loos
Staff
Super helpful & very friendly.
Anything else you wish to tell us?
Definitely visit! Have passed it so many times when in London and never thought to pop in. It's a great break from the hussle and bustle of city life. It's such a majestic building that even sitting and having 15 mins to look at your surroundings is worthwhile.
