Overview
Easy access with plenty of space to move around. Level access, wide doors, and on site toilets.
Transport & Parking
On street parking either on pay and display meters or using a Blue Badge on yellow lines. Buses top in nearby Leith Street or York Place. New Tram stop being constructed in York Place.
Access
Access is good with a ramped slope to the East of the main door. Entry is via the side or main doors and both are wide enough and level entry for wheelchair users. There is plenty of circulation space, only two internal doors to negotiate and each is wide and level access.
Toilets
An accessible toilet, as well as standard toilets are provided in the adjacent Parish Centre. a door from the Cathedral's lobby leads into the Centre which also housed meeting rooms and a cafe. The accessible toilet is spacious, modern and equipped with the standard range of accessibility features. It is sometimes kept locked and the key is available on request from the cafe counter (you pass by this on the way to the toilets).
Staff
Staff and volunteers were helpful. Offering to assist with doors, helping with refreshments in the cafe, and generally very friendly.
Anything else you wish to tell us?
The entrance is not immediately obvious for mobility impaired visitors. The footage of the Cathedral has a series of steps - look to the side and follow the wall line and you will see the wall lowers and and route is marked. There is a separate accessible entrance to the cafe and meeting rooms.
