Overview
Discovered this wee gem when out exploring walks with my Dad around Dunkeld. It's hidden up the lane towards Dunkeld Cathedral. Not the easiest for a wheelchair user as the door is narrow and there is a few steps, once inside the seating area is snug. As the weather was good and I can walk a little, I abandoned my chair outside where the waitress said she'd keep an eye. The menu is full of delicious fresh soups, sandwiches, hot mains and cakes perfect for refuelling after a mornings walk. Daily specials adorn one of the walls, I opted for the double cheese and red onion chutney sandwich, my dad a brie and beetroot chutney toastie. Expecting a wee bit of side salad, I was shocked at what arrived. A well filled sandwich on artisan bread, with home made red cabbage coleslaw, fresh leave salad and tortilla chips. Very tasty and well worth the cost.
Transport & Parking
As it's up the lane to the Cathedral there isn't any parking nearby.
Access
The cafe is in a very only building. The door had two small steps and was a bit narrow for my electric wheelchair though I think you'd be fine in a normal sized manual chair. Getting out the back to the alfresco area would be almost impossible for a wheelchair as you'd need to navigate through all the indoor tables. Inside the seating area was fairly spacious for the size of it, though any large wheelchairs would struggle to move around.
Toilets
It was a little disappointing. The room would have worked ok as a disabled toilet however they had put a large baby changing unit in which made the room very small. There were handrails but the toilet was a bit low.
Staff
They were very friendly and service was swift.
