Overview
Southwold Pier is a fun and accessible place for a day out. There is a wooden ramp leading to the pier. The pier itself includes a variety of restaurants, shops and amusements with step-free access. There is plenty of seating for those who require it.
Transport & Parking
There is a large public car park adjacent to the pier, with a number of spaces for blue badge users.
Access
A wooden ramp on the right-hand side gives access to the pier, which then has step-free access throughout. We visited the Boardwalk Restaurant on the pier, which had tables outside and plenty of space inside for a wheelchair. The various other restaurants, shops and amusements on the pier have step-free access.
Toilets
We did not use toilets on the pier, but there is an accessible public toilet with rails close by in the car park next to the pier entrance, accessed by a RADAR key. The door of this toilet is very heavy!
Staff
The staff we met were all friendly and helpful.
