Overview
Day out with my niece and nephew during the school holidays.
Transport & Parking
We didn’t use the parking at pleasureland due to the cost, we parked at the park and ride next to it, which was only £2 all day and has a lot of disabled bays they also have accessible toilets here and you can catch the bus into Southport from here.
Access
The entrance is great completely flat easy access with my wheelchair, the paths inside are also flat and was definitely easy to self propel, unfortunately thats the only accessible thing, all the rides have large steps to access them so I just watched my niece and nephew ride. Majority of the seating is picnic benches so while I could put my wheelchair to the side you can’t really get close to the table when eating, the food vendors are high up but the staff where helpful.
Toilets
1 accessible toilet but it’s not really accessible. The pull down bar that is at the side of the toilet has been removed so they only have a wall bar that is blocked by the toilet roll holder, hence why I say it’s not really accessible. Signage to the toilets isn’t great and they are at the front of the park so if your on the far side it’s a trek back. While I was waiting for someone to come out of the toilet, another guest asked if I knew where the men’s toilets where (next to the disabled toilet), a staff member then told them to just use the disabled toilet coz there was a queue not great when there’s only 1 disabled accessible toilet the other guest refused and said that wouldn’t be right when a disabled person was also waiting.
Staff
Staff at the entrance where very friendly, and the girl at the food kiosk was helpful, only staff experience that wasn’t great was the girl at the toilets.
Anything else you wish to tell us?
I’d only recommend it if your happy to be a non rider/bystander, they need to really fix the handrails in the disabled toilet and have better signage.
