The Iceman cometh

This review is especially helpful for those who have or use the following: Wheelchair, Powerchair

Overview

The majority of this museum is taken up with an permanent exhibition devoted to Otzi - the 5 000 year old man discovered frozen in a glacier, his life, his world and how he was reconstructed. Fascinating and well worth a visit.

Transport & Parking

0

As the museum is not on a main street, arriving could be problematic! Best to arrive by foot or road although public transport is available.

Access

3

Very good - ramp up to the entrance and a good sized lift to all floors. Signs and text on individual exhibits were in three languages - Italian, German & English. The "Otzi Story' therefore was easy to follow - with some interactive exhibits and easy all-round access. Photos though are not allowed.

Toilets

I only saw one - which I used, it is by the front door and very accessible. A decent size and well appointed.

Staff

The only staff we encountered were in the Gift Shop - who had good English and were friendly enough. (Then there was the man who came to chuck us out at five!)

Anything else you wish to tell us?

You don't have to be into science or anthropology to find this exhibit interesting. I only wish we had had more time.
