Overview
This is a restaurant I came across after taking out the tagine for a mixed veg dish and cous cous one night. Fully accessible on entrance level as with the toilet. It is based in Clerk Street on the eastern side of the street going towards Cameron Toll. It’s a bright multi floored building that offers a simple and uncomplicated menu, the lamb tagine was excellent, fragrant and full of tastes and memories of North Africa. The rice that accompanied it was perfectly steamed. The only issue I could have done a more, it came as it should in its own little tagine.
Transport & Parking
At the moment there is significant gas work, resurfacing going on which will affect much of South Edinburgh, especially Newington. Car parking is even more limited and there are temporary bus stops in other places, this is a very busy main road, the bus service is provided by 3 companies with 19 routes. The City Bus Service is considered one of the most frequent, until 19.00 there is one in either direction every 2m.
Access
On the one level including the disabled toilet.
Toilets
Large and fully equipped.
Staff
Very, very helpful - they remind you that there is no alcohol served, but the apple juice with fresh mint is lovely.
Anything else you wish to tell us?
I rated this lower only because I could have done with more, but as said could not fault the food, I even bought some dates for Rhona and chose another tagine for myself.
