Overview
We had dinner at The Slanj and stayed overnight in our motorhome. The restaurant is in an old church building so I was nervous about wheelchair access but it was great! They are very dog friendly and from some of the reviews I read elsewhere, I wondered how my assistance dog with food allergies would get on but again, it was fine.
Transport & Parking
The car park is huge and off the main road from Loch Fyne to Loch Lomond. There are marked bays but I didn't see blue badge parking. We parked in a motorhome bay and were fine, though it was sloping and even with chocks, we weren't level.
Access
The restaurant has level access and was easy to move around. We were offered a table with plenty of space for me, my wheelchair and my assistance dog. I had read reviews about staff fussing dogs and feeding them treats, but they didn't do this with mine, so they must also have had assistance dog training.
Toilets
The toilets are down a short corridor and easy to access. The accessible toilet was fine... big enough and clean with all the usual grab rails. My only complaint was that the ladies and gents were labelled up as Damsels and Knights... but the accessible one was just Disabled. I think we should have some kind of heroic label too!
Staff
The staff were awesome! So friendly and helpful!
Anything else you wish to tell us?
The food was top notch! I had the salmon, which they made specially as I have allergies and couldn't have the usual sauce. For dessert, I had the deep fried Mars Bar bites. They were seriously good! Strongly recommend!
