Overview
A very pleasant, cosy, accessible restaurant at Resorts World, NEC Birmingham, well worth a visit. After parking in their own RESORTS INDOOR CAR PARK, you will find lots of good shops, and with very good prices, which you have to pass to get to SKY BAR anyway, so it makes a nice day out as well, especially if you take a little walk around the lake. It was a very pleasant experience we did not expect, and Resort World is now one of our favourite places to visit, it is so accessible. ========================================== To help you get more from your visit to the NEC exhibition centre Birmingham, we encourage you to read our other reviews. On Euan’s guide, log in, and near the top of their opening page, in the search button, type in any of the places we have reviewed as described below. RESORTS WORLD BIRMINGHAM. NEC NATIONAL EXHIBITION CENTRE MILLER AND CARTER RESORTS WORLD ARDEN HOTEL. (Hotel) MOXY BIRMINGHAM (Hotel) SKY BAR AND RESTAURANT THE SECRET GARDEN ======================================= PHOTOS 1 to 5 Take the lift from ground floor just by customers services up to fifth floor and enter the SKY BAR which is a very attractive and well spaced out area. There are seating places with a number of places a wheelchair can be placed. PHOTO 6 The bar is well stocked with famous brands, but what Dennis enjoyed was the variety of alcohol free cocktails at £5.00 each, and over the visits lately, he has enjoyed a number of these, so drinks, be aware of these cocktails. PHOTO 7 to 9 On a warm sunny day you may want to sit outside and enjoy the views over the NEC, but of course the seats are dominated by smokers, a right nuisance, so we are forced to stay indoors, but never mind, it’s a really nice bar area. PHOTO 10. A ramp is available to get you up to restaurant and accessible toilets. The food is excellent here, well prepared and presented, worth a lunch break. PHOTOS 11 to 15 There are places for wheelchairs and most scooters, and you will enjoy the food offered. PHOTOS 16 to 17 Accessible toilets are very good, spotlessly clean, roomy, and stand just at the far end corner of the restaurant. Modern furnishes and facilities, with grab rails and pull cord. PHOTOS 18 to 20 Just by toilets you will see another dinning area through the glass partitions, and during the afternoon up to 5.00pm this is where you can enjoy a delightful afternoon tea, and again there are places for your wheelchair and scooters, and it is good to know that a ploughman’s tea is also available as we see the couple enjoying, who were pleased to allow a photo to be taken. All in all, we recommend to you the SKY BAR AND RESTUARANT at Resort World, NEC. It’s a delightful experience, well worth you visiting. TO ADD MORE ENJOYMENT, READ OUR NEXT REVIEW AS WELL. THE SECRET GARDEN, at Sky Bar.
Transport & Parking
For disabled, it is best to follow signs after arriving at the NEC for Resorts World, follow signs and drive right up to last car park on left, but then take the ramp for car park that you will see to your right, and drive up to follow signs for SHOPS, and disabled bays can be found close to shops entrance. Parking is expensive, but if you spend £20.00 or over at any place in Resorts World, for shops or eating outlets then you can park for just £3.00 for the full day. There’s lotsh of good shops, excellent low prices can be found, the many restaurants are excellent, and you can also enjoy a walk around the lake and even enter any exhibitions being held at the NEC. To get parking for £3.00 simply take receipt to customer desk close to shops, and they will validate your ticket. Close to the desk you will find a lift to take you up to fifth floor for SKY BAR.
Access
After parking, a lift is available to take you down to Shop level, and it is all easy and level throughout the centre. It is all nicely laid out, we found no trouble moving through shops, and seating was easy in all the restaurants. SKY BAR has areas you may place your chairs to relax over a drink. There is a ramp available to get you up to restaurant level, and to accessible toilet., and another ramp to get you to THE SECRET GARDEN, (which is our next review)
Toilets
This was large enough to take all chairs, very clean and well looked after, with pull cord and grab rails.
Staff
All are kind, willing and their support is very good.
