Overview
Care has been taken in the design of this building to maximise accessibility.
Transport & Parking
There is disabled parking 50 yards away in St Sampson's Square. Bus routes run into the city centre with stops within 1/4 of a mile depending on bus route. All First buses have wheelchair access.
Access
Wheelchairs of all sizes can access the entire ground floor using ramps and lifts. Spacious between desks and private offices to allow manoeuvrability. Lost half a mark because the reception desk does not have a lower counter for wheelchair access. There is an upper floor with private offices, which is only accessible via 2 flights of stairs, with double handrails. However, space will always be made available on the ground floor for those who cannot use the stairs.
Toilets
There is a disabled customer toilet which is suitable for those who transfer independently or with assistance of 1 person, but would be too small and with out adequate room for 2 to assist. There are no hoist facilities.
Staff
Staff are always welcoming and accommodate individual accessibility needs. They move chairs and provide assistance where necessary.
