Overview
Sizergh Castle is a fascinating National Trust Property. The Gardens are amazing. Grange Mobility Scooter Group were given a guided tour tailored to the capabilities of our own scooters. They do have a Tramper which is available at no charge if prebooked. Mobility Scooter users are also welcome on any of the scheduled tours.
Transport & Parking
There are several blue badge holder spaces adjacent to the Visitor Centre.
Access
Access to the reception, shop cafe and toilets is ramped. The cafe is spacious and we were encouraged to access it on our scooters.
Toilets
I didn’t use the loo but heard no complaints from group members
Staff
The staff were extremely helpful. One of the group joined the National Trust on the day. She was given a free pass for her husband who was accompanying her as her carer. This is a provision that the Trust don’t seem to advertise. It effectively halved the cost of membership . All the staff and volunteers were extremely friendly and helpful, especially the garden guide.
Anything else you wish to tell us?
The gardens are worth visiting right through the season .
