Overview

I am disappointed and disgusted, If your disabled or in a wheelchair DONT BOTHER. ITS DOWN RIGHT DANGEROUS. 1st time to the British Grand Prix and I have also been to Spa and Germany. They do it so much better. 2 hours to get into Disabled carpark at a cost of £75 for 3 days. At least a 20 min walk (for walking) no distinct path sometimes I actually got stuck in Gravel pits or stuck on massive rocks or no other way apart from over grass. The slope up to the Disabled seating area was so steep I nearly upended on my wheelchair. In addition you have to fight your way through the crowds there and back. No cover on the "Disabled" seating area. There were people there who had medical equipment or conditions that could have done with shelter, a ban on putting up any sort of shelter. (Eventually by midafternoon was told you could use a small umbrella) And to top it off as Disabled bays are the furthest carpark I've spent nearly 3.5 hours getting out. For the entry fee Silverstone you should be ashamed. My husband spent the day worrying more about me than enjoying the races and it was his day.

Transport & Parking

By car. Had to drive all the way past disabled parking, then through all the other car parks back the way we had already been to get to disabled car park (could have opened a gate for access. Paid £25 per day

Access

No lifts. Badly designed steep ramps. No shelter on designated Disabled Bins. Although paid £475 for myself. Got a free seat for my carer. Despite having 2 seats per Bin, was told by a volunteer that I had to sit in my wheelchair. Needed to sit in a chair as that had some shade from signage!

Toilets

Closest to disabled seating there were 2. One of which was also a designated baby child change. Queues for disabled far worse than for those with no disabilities...... instead you had people making comments about "your not disabled " " you can't use this without a key"

Staff

1 was very nice and helped however he could. The other kept insisting we were disabled and should be sat in our wheelchairs as only paid for 1 seat

Anything else you wish to tell us?

It would have helped to have a signed wheelchair route (if there was one) just as well it wasn't raining as I'd still be stuck in a Gravel pit or grass field. Only covid precautions as part of the Government event research. Was checking either Covid pass or negative test.
