Lunch with carer
Visit date:
This review is especially helpful for those who have or use the following: Wheelchair
Overview
Made visit on recommendation from someone who had been there many times. It certainly meet expectations. Good food good service at a reasonable price. Very busy even for a Tuesday so booking is essential. Make sure you mention you are in a wheelchair and ask for the table nearest the bar as access to other tables can be a bit tight.
Transport & Parking
North Berwick is notorious for lack of parking. You will have to park on street parking. You will have to park in the main car park opposite the ship inn there are blue badge spaces. Walk on to the street turn right and signals is one hundred meters .
Access
Typical old building you will need to get the attention of staff inside to hold the doors open. No steps. Level access from pavement . Bistro tables are not far from the entrance but staff will take you to your table.
Toilets
Disabled toilets accessible but difficult for large electric chairs not a problem for my manual one.
Staff
We were shown to our table and given menus promptly and asked if i would like something to drink. Drinks came soon after and we were asked if we were ready to order. The meals were served without delay. Staff were pleasant and enquired. if whether we had enjoyed our meal. There is a sign on the wall ( We do not serve fast food. We serve good food as fast as we can so please be patient). This sums up the attitude of the establishment cant fault it.
Anything else you wish to tell us?
I had smoked salmon and avocado bagel for a starter and black forest trifle for a desert. I always starters and deserts because i find restaurant starters more than enough for my appetite both courses were fantastic.
