Overview
This building the Shrewsbury Flax mill & Maltings was the first iron constructed sky scraper, built in the 18th century it’s been restored (and still works continue) The many building are covered in the tour, carried out by volunteers ,takes in the 5 story building and Maltings, the original main building was constructed to process Flax ,used in the manufacture of linen. Highly recommend that you try a visit if you are in Shrewsbury. They have lifts to get less able up to the higher floors, and a great cafe on site.! Free parking on site with good spaces for blue badge holders.

Access
The access on the tour is good, the arrears that you are taken are wheelchair accessible, with a very sturdy temporary ramp being put out for one particular part of the tour,

Staff
The Milks volunteers are really good and knowledgeable. The staff and cafe stafff are also good, the cafe is very vegetarian/vegan friendly.
Anything else you wish to tell us?
Definitely worth going to see if you are in the Shrewsbury area, with it being about a 10 min stroll from the station, be it away from the town centre.
