Overview
Accessible self catering lodge. Comfortable accommodation with sea view, spacious, well appointed and with two bathrooms, both with step-free walk-in showers. One shower is wet room style but there are no grab handles unfortunately. Sunny patio with table and chairs, and lots of wild rabbits to watch. We enjoyed the proximity to Knockinaam Lodge Hotel for its excellent restaurant. The hotel is a few yards along an uneven gravel path with one step at the entrance. There is a path to the beach a short distance away but there are three or four small steps down to the shingle.
Transport & Parking
A car is essential. Roads to Knockinaam are very narrow The car park for the cottage is close but roughly surfaced with loose stones and the fine gravel path is on a bit of a slope down to the front door.
Access
Access is completely step free, accommodation all on one level. Some kitchen cupboards were too high for me to reach because I can’t stretch for things.
Toilets
Toilets in the cottage both a good height, not too low and easy enough to flush. Shower and taps manageable with my arthritic hands. Toilet in the hotel on same level as restaurant but not suitable for wheelchair users.
Staff
Staff in the hotel were very polite and friendly
